About your instructor
Elizabeth Raihala is a vocalist and pianist with a degree in Music Education, emphasizing vocal and choral music, from the College of St. Scholastica, and a minor in psychology. With over 30 years of experience in teaching piano, voice, and in classroom settings, she is also actively involved in Music Ministry and choral activities. She is dedicated to fostering a lifelong love of music in her students, many of whom have won MMTA and MTNA competitions and pursued music in college and beyond.
Elizabeth currently serves as President of the Duluth Music Teachers Association, affiliated with the National Federation of Music Clubs, and holds the positions of District Contest Chairperson and State Voice Contest Chair for the Minnesota Music Teachers Association. She is nationally certified through the Music Teachers National Association and is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing.
Previously, she was the staff accompanist for the University of Minnesota-Duluth’s Theater Department, where she played for the sophomore musical theater acting class, the senior audition class, and various musicals. She is now the staff Music Director at New Life Lutheran Church. Additionally, Elizabeth’s musical expertise extends internationally, as she coaches vocalists via Zoom from Taipei to Australia.
Liz is available for playing and or singing at weddings, funerals or other special events.
